Dental bridges in Mississauga replace one or more missing teeth with a fixed, natural-looking restoration. A bridge joins a false tooth to crowns on the teeth either side of the gap, so you don’t take it out, and it restores your smile and your bite in a few weeks. At River Run Dental Centre, our dentists make each bridge to match your natural teeth.

We’re open 7 days a week, including evenings and Sundays.

Benefits of a Dental Bridge

A gap affects more than your smile. Over time, the teeth beside it lean in, the tooth above or below drifts, and chewing gets harder.

Fills the gap with a natural-looking tooth

Fixed in place, not removable

Stops nearby teeth from shifting

Quicker than an implant, with no surgery

How a Dental Bridge Is Made

A traditional bridge usually takes two or three visits over two to three weeks.

Preparing the Teeth

We numb and shape the teeth on each side of the gap so they can hold crowns.

Scan and Temporary Bridge

We take a scan or impressions for the lab and fit a temporary bridge.

Fitting Your Bridge

We check the fit, bite and colour of the final bridge, then cement it in place.

If the teeth beside the gap are healthy, we may suggest an implant-supported bridge instead, which doesn’t need them reshaped. For a front tooth, a bonded bridge attaches to the back of the neighbouring teeth with very little reshaping.

Why Choose River Run for Dental Bridges

We compare a bridge with an implant and a denture honestly, including the cost and lifespan of each, so you can choose what suits you.

Clear Costs Up Front

We explain the full cost of your bridge, and what your plan covers, before we start.

Dental Bridge Cost in Mississauga

Dental bridge cost in Mississauga depends on how many teeth it replaces, the material and the type of bridge. A three-unit bridge, with one false tooth and a crown on each side, is the most common. Longer bridges and implant-supported bridges cost more. The average cost of a dental bridge in Ontario varies from clinic to clinic. When you compare one dental bridge price with another, check whether the crowns on the supporting teeth are included, since bridge fees are sometimes listed per tooth.

With insurance: most workplace plans cover bridges as major work, often at a lower rate, and some plans ask for a pre-estimate first. We’ll check your coverage.

Without insurance: you’ll know the full price before we start. If you’re comparing cheap or affordable dental bridge options, a partial denture costs less up front, while an implant lasts longer. We’ll explain the trade-offs.

Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) coverage for bridges is limited. We’ll check what your plan covers before treatment.

Dental Bridge vs Implant: Which Is Better?

Both replace missing teeth with a fixed, natural-looking result. The better choice depends on the teeth next to the gap, your bone and your budget.

Dental bridgeDental implant
Treatment time2 to 3 weeksUsually 3 to 6 months
Surgery neededNoYes, to place the implant
Neighbouring teethReshaped to hold crownsNot affected
Protects the jawboneNoYes
Typical lifespan10 to 15 yearsImplant can last decades; crown 10 to 15 years
Cost up frontUsually lowerUsually higher

A bridge is often the better choice when the teeth next to the gap already need crowns. If they’re healthy, a dental implant leaves them untouched. For several missing teeth, partial dentures are another option.

Dental Bridges for Adults and Seniors

Bridges suit people who have lost one to three teeth in a row and have healthy teeth on either side of the gap.

  • Adults: replace a tooth lost to decay, injury or a failed root canal, especially when the neighbouring teeth already have large fillings.
  • Seniors: a fixed bridge can be more comfortable than a partial denture, with nothing to take out at night.
  • Teens: a bonded bridge can fill a gap until the jaw finishes growing and an implant is possible.

To care for a bridge, brush twice a day and clean under the false tooth every day with a floss threader or water flosser. Regular cleanings help the supporting teeth last.

Dental Bridges in Mississauga: Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on how many teeth the bridge replaces, the material and the type of bridge. A three-unit bridge is the most common. We give you the full cost before we start, and most workplace plans cover part of it.

Usually 10 to 15 years, and often longer with good home care and regular checkups. The supporting teeth need to stay healthy for the bridge to last.

The teeth are numbed while we prepare them, so you should feel pressure but not pain. They may be sensitive to cold for a few days afterwards.

An implant leaves neighbouring teeth untouched and protects the jawbone. A bridge is quicker, needs no surgery and costs less up front, and it's often the better choice when the teeth beside the gap already need crowns.

Brush twice a day and clean under the false tooth daily with a floss threader, bridge floss or a water flosser. This keeps food and plaque from building up around the supporting teeth.

Yes. A bridge can usually replace up to three teeth in a row, as long as the supporting teeth are strong. For longer gaps, implant-supported bridges or partial dentures are often a better fit.

Most workplace plans cover bridges as major work, often at a lower rate. Canadian Dental Care Plan coverage for bridges is limited. We'll check your plan before treatment.
