Invisalign in Mississauga

Invisalign in Mississauga is a discreet way to straighten your teeth with a series of clear, removable aligners instead of metal braces. Most people won’t notice you’re wearing them, and you take them out to eat, brush and floss. At River Run Dental Centre, our dentists offer Invisalign for teens and adults.
Your first step is a consultation to see if clear aligners suit your teeth. We’re open 7 days a week, including evenings and Sundays, so check-ins fit around work and school.
Benefits of Invisalign Clear Aligners
Clear aligners move your teeth a little with each new set. Compared with traditional braces, they’re easier to live with day to day.
Nearly invisible when you smile
Removable for eating, brushing and flossing
Smooth plastic, with no wires or brackets
Fewer in-person visits than braces

How Invisalign Treatment Works
Invisalign treatment usually takes 6 to 18 months, depending on how far your teeth need to move. Here’s what to expect.
Consultation and Scan
Your dentist checks your teeth and bite and takes a digital scan or impressions.
Your Treatment Plan
You see a preview of how your teeth will move, then get your first sets of aligners.
Wear and Check-ins
You wear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day, switch sets every week or two, and come in for check-ins.
When treatment ends, we provide dental retainers to keep your teeth in place. Most people wear theirs every night at first, then a few nights a week. Skipping the retainer is the most common reason teeth shift back.

Invisalign Cost in Mississauga
Invisalign cost in Mississauga depends on how many aligners you need and how long treatment takes. Minor crowding or small gaps may need a short, less expensive plan. Complex bite problems take longer and cost more. The average cost of Invisalign in Ontario, and of other clear aligners, varies with how complex your case is, so when you compare prices and Invisalign fees, ask whether scans, check-ins and your first retainer are included.
With insurance: some workplace plans include orthodontic coverage, often with a lifetime maximum. Many only cover orthodontics for children and teens, so we’ll check your plan for you.
Without insurance: you’ll get the full Invisalign price at your consultation, so there are no surprises. Ask us about spreading treatment across two insurance years if you have partial coverage.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) only covers orthodontic treatment in limited, medically necessary cases. It doesn’t cover straightening for cosmetic reasons.

Invisalign vs Braces: Which Is Right for You?
Both Invisalign and braces straighten crooked teeth, close gaps and correct bite problems. The right choice depends on your teeth and your lifestyle.
- Invisalign suits adults and responsible teens with mild to moderate crowding, gaps or bite issues who want a discreet option.
- Braces may work better for severe crowding, complex bite problems or younger patients who might forget to wear aligners.
- Both need a retainer afterwards to keep your teeth straight.
Common causes of crooked teeth and a gap in teeth are genetics, jaw size, thumb-sucking and losing baby teeth early. They aren’t only a cosmetic concern, because they make teeth harder to clean and raise the risk of cavities and gum disease.
How to fix crooked teeth or a gap in your teeth depends on how far they need to move. A very small gap can sometimes be closed with dental bonding instead. At your consultation, your dentist will tell you honestly whether aligners or braces will give you a better result.
Invisalign for Teens and Adults
Invisalign isn’t only for adults.
- Teens: we check that aligners are being worn enough and plan around teeth that are still coming in.
- Adults: straighten teeth that have shifted over the years, or were never treated, without metal braces at work.
- After braces: if your teeth moved back because you stopped wearing a retainer, aligners can often correct it.
Younger children usually need braces or early orthodontic care instead. We’ll let you know what suits your child.

Most treatments take 6 to 18 months. Minor corrections can be quicker. You'll see a treatment plan with an estimated timeline at your consultation.
You may feel pressure or mild soreness for a day or two when you switch to a new set of aligners, which means they're working. Most people find aligners more comfortable than braces because there are no wires or brackets.
Some workplace plans with orthodontic coverage help pay for Invisalign, often up to a lifetime maximum. Many only cover orthodontics for children. The Canadian Dental Care Plan doesn't cover cosmetic straightening. We'll check your plan for you.
20 to 22 hours a day. Take them out only to eat, drink anything other than water, and clean your teeth. Wearing them less can slow your treatment.
Not always. Mild to moderate crowding and gaps can be treated by a general dentist trained in Invisalign. If your case is complex, for example a severe bite problem, we'll refer you to an orthodontist in Mississauga and coordinate your care.
Yes. Gaps between teeth are one of the most common problems aligners treat, and small gaps can close in a few months. Your dentist will show you the expected result before you start.
You'll wear a retainer to stop your teeth moving back, usually every night at first and then a few nights a week. Keep it clean and bring it to your checkups.
